Conveyor Cleaning
The Industrial Brush Company is a trusted supplier to businesses that rely on conveyors because our brushes and application expertise will ensure their conveyors run optimally. A complete line of conveyor cleaning brushes is available to be custom-tailored for specific uses and belt types. Our synthetic (plastic) and wire filament brushes are used to clean, scrub, and manage conveyor belts of all designs. Each belt type can have targeted brush performance by changing bristle length, diameter and type, density, brush pattern, and winding type. Customers choose The Industrial Brush Company because our unique brush constructions, customizability, and expertise allow for higher throughput with longer brush life and less downtime. We make our brushes to work harder and last longer for you .
Plastic and rubber belts
Fineset Nylon Brushes
Conveyor belts constructed of plastic, fiber, or rubber are best cleaned with synthetic filament brushes. Our synthetic filament brushes use nylon or polypropylene in a number of stiffness’s to clean soft belts. Standard filaments are available for constant temperatures up to 150°F and high-heat filaments are available for constant temperatures up to 300°F. Filaments with additives for static or downstream-detection considerations are also available. Flat-top, cleated, trough, rubber, and plastic-section belts most commonly employ our Fineset winding system. These brushes are best for removing loose or lightly-attached contaminants because the bristles are individually bonded to the brush core and act with a sweeping action. Spiral patterns in the brushes are best to keep the contaminants from being redeposited onto the belts or loading up on the brush. Fineset brushes can be used in wet and dry operating conditions with an operating range of 150-900 RPM.
Corrugator Belts
Tufted Nylon Brushes
When a more aggressive brushing action is required, our Tufted winding system is used. Our Tufted brushes work by epoxy-bonding groups (tufts) of bristles to the brush core. The tufts provide a stiffer and more aggressive scrubbing action to remove more stubborn contaminants from your belt. These brushes are commonly used for cleaning corrugator belts, filter conveyor belts, and sanitary washdown belts. Spiral patterns in the brushes are best to keep the contaminants from being redeposited onto the belts or loading up on the brush. Tufted brushes can be used in wet and dry operating conditions with an operating range of 150-900 RPM.
Metal Belts
Wire Brushes
Wire brushes are used when cleaning metal mesh belts, oven bands, and forming belts when contaminants are strongly mechanically attached to the belt by means of heat or pressure. Wire filaments are available in a range of diameters in carbon steel, stainless steel, and brass. Critically, we match a wire filament type and diameter to a specific application in order to most effectively clean a belt without shortening the life of the belt or the brush. Our wire brushes are made with the Double Band Channel (DBC) winding system that tightly secures the wires to the brush core. DBC winding has the ability to create brushes with different spiral pitches and filament densities. Unlike the weaker tension wire in single band winding, DBC brushes use a more robust tension band. The tension band is folded into the channel for increased rigidity and strength, and also provides more surface contact between the banding and bristles. This makes for a more uniform brush that performs more consistently for a longer life cycle. Spiral bristle patterns manage the flow of contaminants, thus preventing them from redepositing onto the belt or from loading up on the brush. DBC brushes are best suited for dry environments at speeds below 350 RPM and can be used in high heat environments thanks to the metal filaments.
